🍂October Is Here! Let’s Enjoy Autumn in English!

Can you believe it’s already October? The weather is getting cooler, the leaves are changing colors, and Halloween is just around the corner! 🎃

October is a great month to enjoy autumn—and it’s also a great month to practice English.

🎃 Let’s Talk About Halloween!

Halloween is celebrated on October 31st. In many countries, children dress up in costumes and go from house to house saying:

“Trick or treat!”

People often decorate their homes with pumpkins, ghosts, witches, and other spooky decorations. 👻

Here are some useful Halloween words:

• 🎃 pumpkin
• 👻 ghost
• 🧙 witch
• 🧛 vampire
• 🕷️ spider
• 🦇 bat
• 🍬 candy
• 👗 costume

Try making a sentence with one of these words!

“I want to dress up as a vampire for Halloween.”

🍂 Enjoy the Beautiful Autumn Weather

October is also a wonderful time to enjoy the outdoors. In Japan, you can see beautiful autumn colors, go for a walk, visit a park, or enjoy delicious seasonal food.

What is your favorite autumn food?

Maybe it’s sweet potato (さつまいも), chestnuts (栗), pumpkin, or something else!

You can practice saying:

“My favorite autumn food is ______ because it is delicious!”
